“By strengthening our compassion, we give fuel to our courage and determination”
— Joanna Macy & Chris Johnstone, Active Hope
Are you feeling overwhelmed and paralysed by anxiety about the climate emergency? Perhaps you are also experiencing deep sadness and grief, not only about what has been lost but what will be lost in climate breakdown. Maybe you’ve heard that the best way to manage these feelings are to engage in activism, but don’t know what to do, how to do it, or simply feel too burnt out to do so.
I am a Clinical Psychologist with lived experience of climate-related psychological distress. I know that these feelings are natural, in the face of the very real challenges facing the earth and life as we know it. I have personal experience of the benefits that psychological therapy and its principles can bring to individual wellbeing, and I am passionate about providing bringing this benefit to people experiencing distressing emotions in the context of the climate/intersectional crises.
I offer a warm, empathic, and safe space for you to process your feelings about the climate crisis. I bring substantial experience as a Compassion Focused Therapist to support you to move through these feelings and develop useful coping strategies to build your resilience to allow you to live a happier, more meaningful and valued life even as these global challenges continue.
